Near Vuoksa River. Settlement Losevo. Part I - Landscapes and such


Losevo (until 1948 Kiviniemi, Finland. Kiviniemi - Stone Cape) - a village in the rural settlement Romashkinskoye Priozersky district of the Leningrad Region on the bank of the river Vuoksa. Located on the route Saint Petersburg - Sortavala. Former Finnish village, until 1939 part of the parish Sakkola Vyborg province of Finland. Renamed in 1948.


A little history:
In 1940-1941. Kiviniemi duct-Koski was the administrative border between the Leningrad region and the Karelian-Finnish SSR: the northern part of the village was part of the Karelian-Finnish SSR, and the southern - part Rautovskogo district of Leningrad region. In 1945 Kexholm area was included in the Leningrad region and the whole village, so was in the area. Later, the southern part of the village was renamed in the first "stone", then "Varzhkovo" and, finally, "Varshko", and the northern portion was merged with the village Tikansaari and renamed in the first "river", then "Losevo". Since 2003, Losevo an annual competition - rafting on the rapids in an inflatable sex dolls.
