In St. Petersburg, mark the sad date - the 70th anniversary of the beginning of the siege of Leningrad. It began on September 8, when the German soldiers of the "North" captured the city Shlisselburg (Petrokrepost). On the same day the Germans unexpectedly found themselves in the suburbs. German motorcyclists even stopped a tram in the southern outskirts of Leningrad (route № 28 Stremyannaya street. _ Strelna). But the city was ready for defense. All summer, day and night about half a million people created lines of defense. One of them, the most fortified, called the "Stalin Line", was held on-channel. Many homes on the defense lines were converted into long-term support points of resistance.
During the siege of the city was issued 150,000 rounds and dropped 15,000 bombs. The minimum rate of grain in the winter 1941/1942 was estimated at 125 grams. 900 days and nights of the heroic defense of the city were unprecedented feat in the history of mankind.

Ozerki - a historic district in the north of St. Petersburg. Included in the boundaries of the city in 1963. District got its name from located here Suzdal, or Pargolovskih, lakes. Homonymous railway station Oktyabrskaya railway station in St. Petersburg, Vyborg and a subway station, which came into operation on Aug. 19, 1988. The territory is part of the municipality Shuvalovo-Ozerki.

Suzdal Lakes gets its name from Sloboda Suzdal (1 Pargolovo), in which they lived settlers from the vicinity of Suzdal, imported furnishing vast estate of Count Shuvalov. Lake, in turn, gave the name of the district Ozerki.
Upper Lake is located north of Suzdal Poklonnaya Hill. The average depth of 2,5-3 m (maximum - 11 m), length - 600 m, width - 450 m.
Lower Lake is connected with the Middle ducts, in a small area confined to the underground reservoir. Average Lake Superior is much smaller - 400 feet long, 250 m in width.
The average lake separated from the Greater Lower Suzdal (at least until the beginning of the XIX century - Lake Parkola) by a narrow isthmus length of a few hundred meters. Judging from the early maps, to the middle of the XVIII century the lake formed essentially a single system of reservoirs.
